Software Updates
Keeping the software up to date is essential to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant operation.
Regular updates provide:
- Performance improvements that help you work faster and save time
- Critical fixes — postponing updates may introduce risks
- Licence validity, which always applies to the latest software version only
Before Updating
Before starting the update process, please make sure the following requirements are met:
- Internet Connection: The update is downloaded from the central server via the Internet. An active and stable Internet connection is required.
- Proper Timing: It is recommended to perform the update during a period when the software is not actively used.
Update instructions for single-computer and network installations
Use this method if the software is installed on only one computer.
Steps:
- Start the program.
- A few seconds after startup, the software automatically checks whether an update is available on the central server.
- If an update is available, it will be downloaded in the background.
The download progress is shown in the footer of the program.
The software can still be used while the update is downloading. - Once the download is complete, the program will ask whether you want to install the update.
- If you decide to postpone the update, the program will prompt you again at the next startup or after a certain amount of time.
Follow these rules when using the software in a server–client environment:
Important Notes:
- All computers in the network must have Internet access.
- The update must always be started on the server computer first, using the same steps described for single-computer mode.
- Once the server update is complete, client computers can be updated.
- Perform the update at a time when no client computers are connected to the server.
Troubleshooting Update Issues
If the update does not complete successfully, check the following:
Check Internet Connection
A missing or unstable Internet connection may prevent the update from downloading.
Check Internet Access Permissions
The operating system may block Internet access for the software.
Verifying and changing these permissions may require administrator-level access.
Contact Support
If the update still fails after the above checks, please contact support for remote assistance.
